Ben and Amy Straub served as short-term missionaries in Kitwe, Zambia from June 2012 until June 2014. They have two sons, Simon (5) and Isaac (3). They are sent out of Family Baptist Church in Minneapolis Minnesota, through IBMGlobal, a small church-based mission board in New Hampshire. They went to Zambia as short term missionaries, but while there they saw the huge potential for long-term ministry involvement, and have recently returned with the goal of raising support to return to Zambia, as soon as the Lord allows.
Their primary ministry is to serve alongside the faithful team at Central Africa Baptist College, whose mission is to train the next generation of servant leaders in Africa for Great Commission living. The goal of the college is to train and mentor men from many African nations to be leaders who can rightly divide to Word of Truth, and who will then return to their home contexts to plant, pastor, and minister in faithful, gospel preaching churches. The Straubs also have the privilege of ministering as a family to orphans, the deaf, handicapped children, and many other needy souls in Zambia.
